Pfutsero Ward 11 sees 87.09% voter turnout; counting on October 31

Kohima, October 28 (MExN): Polling for the vacant seat at Ward 11 (Zhipa) under the Pfutsero Town Council was successfully conducted today, the State Election Commission (SEC) of Nagaland said.

The election saw a voter turnout of 87.09 per cent in a straight contest between two Independent candidates. Counting of votes and declaration of results is scheduled for October 31, 2025.

The SEC reported that the polling was conducted peacefully and smoothly, without any untoward incidents or law and order issues.

The Commission commended the entire Phek District election machinery, including the Returning Officer and her team, the Deputy Commissioner and officers of Phek, the Election Observer, SP Phek and her team, polling officials, ward authorities, voters, civil society organisations, and all others who contributed to the successful conduct of the poll.

The SEC also appealed to all stakeholders for continued support and cooperation in the coming days, including on counting day.
