DIMAPUR, JUNE 9 (MExN): The meeting of the Phek District Development Planning & Development Board cum felicitation programme for UPSC/HSLC/HSSLC Toppers of Phek district was held on June 9 at Phek DPDB conference hall.

A DIPR report informed that the Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman, DPDP, Kumar Ramnikant, initiated the meeting by reviewing the previous meeting minutes. He also requested all the HODs and staffs to be in stations.

Advisor New & Renewable Energy, Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority, Z. Nyusietho Nyushe proposed introduction of science stream at Government Higher Secondary School, Meluri for classes 11 and classes 12, and pointed out that most of the students could not pursue in science stream outside Meluri due to financial constraints.

Nyushe also proposed for opening of new private primary school at Losami village as there is no private school at present. The house after deliberation agreed to recommend the proposals to government for approval.

MLA & Leader of NPF Party Legislator, Kuzholuzo Nienu asked all the convenors of each sub-committee to present their estimated budget to Finance Committee before the next DPDB meeting. He also requested all HODs of Phek district to beautify their respective office buildings before the 50th anniversary celebration of Phek district.

During the Felicitation programme, a total of nine toppers of HSLC/HSSLC and one UPSC topper were facilitated. Short speeches were also delivered by HSLC Top 6, Khotolu Curha and UPSC CSE Rank 387, Vevotolu Kezo. The felicitation programme was chaired by EAC Phek, Er. Omegali. Power point presentation was presented by Medical and PHED department respectively.
