KOHIMA, OCTOBER 18 (MExN): The line departments from Nagaland headed by Angelina Tajen, Secretary, Tribal Affairs, Government of Nagaland along with officials from Rural Development, Social Welfare, Health & Family Welfare, Education and others attended ‘Aadi Karmayogi National Conclave’ on October 17 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
During the conclave, Phek and Dimapur districts got the recognition award of outstanding performance and exemplary contribution as the best performing districts under the initiatives of Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan.
The event focused on the "Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan," a national movement aimed at empowering tribal communities and building a decentralized tribal leadership ecosystem.
The Conclave was organized by Ministry of Tribal Affairs and graced by President of India, Droupadi Murmu, as the Chief Guest.
It was attended by Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram, other ministers, officials, and representatives from tribal communities across the nation.
The Conclave centered on the "Tribal Village Vision 2030," which focuses on translating ideas into implementation for comprehensive tribal development.
Addressing the Conclave, Murmu stated that the goal of the Abhiyan is to make every tribal village self-reliant and ensure that tribal communities fully participate in the nation's development.
The initiative plans to train 20 lakh "Change-leaders" across one lakh tribal villages in 550 tribal-dominated districts. These leaders, known as "Adi Karmayogis" and "Adi Sahyogis," will act as drivers of governance and service providers.
Murmu presented awards to top-performing states, districts, blocks, and Integrated Tribal Development Agencies for their efforts in implementing the Abhiyan.
Madhya Pradesh was one of the states recognized for its outstanding performance.
Meanwhile, a "Tribal Business Conclave" will take place on November 12 to promote tribal entrepreneurship.
