Phek District Taekwondo Association fetes members

Participants and medalists from Phek who took part in the recently concluded Nagaland State Taekwondo Tournament 2019.

 

Phek, October 6 (MExN): The Phek District Taekwondo Association (PDTA), on Saturday,  orgnised a felicitation event for the participants and medalist from the district at the recently concluded Nagaland State Taekwondo Tournament 2019.


The event was held at Phek SIRD Hall on October 5 in the presence of Zhoi Lohe, SDO (Civil) Phek; Tokavi Achumi, Additional Superintendent Phek; all colonies chairman, GBs; and Phek Town Youth Society,  among others. Speaking on the occasion, Nuyi Hoshi, PDTA informed that the association was formed only July 6, 2019 with Kevizhapu Terhiija, Black belt Dan one as an Instructor from Nagaland Taekwondo Association.


With no proper wherewithal to supports the students, he expressed happiness that with aid of some officers and well-wishers, the association could send 23 total participants and the Phek District won 20 medals,(4 gold, 10 silver and 6 bronze) in various categories.


The SDO (Civil) Phek, Lohe also aluded all the participants and PDTA officials for their achievement and further encouraged the participants to display their talents, discipline and enthusiasm in future. 


Additional Superintendent Phek, Achumi, who also a black belt and a two-time national karate champion, counseled the participants to preserver with patience and discipline while urging them to progress not only in taekwondo but also in their school academics or in social measures.


Akami, General Secretary, PTYS, while lauding the achievement also asked the students to inculcate the value of hardwork to bring more glory for the district, informed a press release from Kedupa Venuh, PTYS Press Secretary.
