Azo addressing Advisory Board meeting of Phek College on September 9.

Kohima, September 10 (MExN): Phek Government College Advisory Board meeting was held on September 9. The meeting was attended by President, Phek District Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PDCCI), Chairman, Phek Town Council, President and members of Phek Town Public Forum, executives of Phek Town Chakhesang Students Union (PTCSU) and members of the college's Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
In his address, MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu emphasised the government’s commitment to supporting higher education in the district. He also assured all possible assistance for the college’s development.
Presiding over the meeting, Rhosietho Nguori, Deputy Commissioner Phek and Chairman of the board, underscored the collective responsibility in steering the college towards excellence.
Dr Levinu Sakhrie, Assistant Professor & IQAC Coordinator delivered a comprehensive presentation detailing the current status, notable academic and extracurricular achievements of the college, and the significant challenges it faces.
It discussed on the pending incomplete construction of the college’s academic building and staff quarters, urgent need for repairing the college approach road to ensure smooth access for student and staff, measures for the protection of the college’s old campus, reorganisation of the Advisory Board and frequency of its meetings to ensure sustained engagement, strategies to tackle declining students enrolment and resolving the water supply issue plaguing the campus.
Concrete action plans were laid out, assigning responsibilities and proposing viable solutions to move forward on these critical fronts.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Dr. K. Zumomo Ovung, Principal, PGC while vote of thanks was proposed by Shepalu Suyie, Vice Principal, PGC.
