Phek, March 2 (MExN): Following the commissioning of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) service at Phek, there has been very poor service for the past few weeks at Phek. Customers have expressed their discontentment over the attitude of the department, especially to the General Manager Dimapur for the step motherly treatment to the district head quarter town, stating this system has become the fashion since installation of its service in Phek.
During a meet with The Morung Express, president of Phek Town Chakhesang Students’ Union (PTCSU) Kozote Akami, on behalf of the denizens of Phek Town and its neighboring villages expressed dissatisfaction with the system of the service, stating that it was beyond tolerance, adding that the department has not paid attention despite repeated pleas through verbal correspondence.
It is to be noted that despite availability of service, it does not allow the customers to have unobstructed conversation as the line itself gets ‘audio-off’ after ten to fifteen seconds, stated Akami, which causes inconvenience especially during emergency correspondence leaving the customers furious. The poor service remains unaddressed for almost a month, added Akami.
“The so called service of BSNL is not a new thing for the people of Phek town,” asserted Akami, stating that the majority of the mobile users were subscribers to BSNL, and if the poor service continues onwards it might force people to stage an ‘agitation in the form of ugly manner.’
“The more the people of Phek Town cooperate with the department, the more the department takes advantage which is against the desire of the public,” Akami pointed out. Representing the whole denizens of Phek Town and its nearby villages, Akami strongly urges the department specially the GM Dimapur to initiate necessary steps for the early restoration of normal service without any further delay. “Failing to comply with the demands of the people, it further warned that any untoward incident meted out, the department shall be solely responsible for the whole episode,” he stated.
