Phek SP warned by NSCN (IM)

Dimapur June 14 (MExN): Following the notices issued by the NSCN (IM) to the Superintendents of Police of both Dimapur and Wokha districts recently, a similar notice was issued to the Superintendent of Phek, Sundeep M Tamgadge, by the faction to leave the district within a seven-days time from the date of this notice’s issuance failing which “he shall be totally responsible for any untoward incident and shall be considered sacrificing his own life”.  

The notice issued by the CAO of the Chakhesang Region, GPRN/NSCN (IM) and made available to the media, asserted that no threat whatsoever from the Phek SP would be tolerated. The NSCN (IM) was reacting to the directives issued by the SP to all underground cadres to vacate the town. The Chakhesang Region CAO, Venehu, maintained that at the juncture when the different factions/sections of the Nagas are endeavoring for unity “from nowhere this dividend ideology has been initiated from the state-missionaries and it should not be taken into granted as a Naga” and added that “we wish your full-support in this upcoming unwanted tactics of our adversaries and bear the trouble, which may happen tomorrow”. 

It may be mentioned that respective SPs of districts including Dimapur, Wokha and Mokokchung have issued notices to all the factions of Naga underground organizations to vacate civilian-populated areas as well as prohibited movement in uniform and arms. It may be mentioned that Dimapur SP Bidhu Shekhar and Wokha SP RP Kikon were served with similar warnings by the NSCN (IM) to leave their respective districts within a stipulated time for issuing the said notices.
