Dimapur, September 12 (MExN): The Phevima Eco Club (PEC) celebrated its 1st Foundation Day on the September 10 with Neisenuo Apon Rengma, Assistant Professor, Dimapur Government College (DGC) as guest speaker.
According to a press release from the PEC on Sunday, the DGC National Service Scheme (NSS) also joined the programme. President of PEC, Vibozo opened the programme with a welcome address and highlighted the foundation of the Eco Club, the release stated.
During the programme, Vitho Zao, Chairperson of Phevima Village appreciated the club for their progressive work in the village and the KPYO also congratulated the club on their 1st anniversary. Hereafter, the PEC Secretary gave a report on the projects that were successfully held. The KPYO also commended the working drive of the club.
Guest speaker Neisenuo Rengma expressed how inspired and motivated she was by the club's success and congratulated the PEC on reaching their one year mark, the release stated. She also shared how the NSS got into close proximity with the village and PEC and remarked that the club has been effectively impacting the village. She also suggested that the PEC maintain an herbal garden and advised on plantations that were beneficial for the environment.
The formal programme was later followed with social activity of planting trees in and around the village by the Phevima Eco Club and NSS members, the release stated.
