Dimapur, August 24 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Youth Organisation Nagaland (ZYON), Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN), Zeliangrong Mipui Organization (ZMO), and Western Naga Youth Front, supported by Dimapur-based civil societies, will jointly hold a ‘public gathering’ demanding justice for victim of Pimla murder case.
The event is scheduled for August 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Supermarket, Dimapur, according to a pamphlet circulated about the gathering.
The August 25 event follows ongoing Phase-II agitation in Peren district after the discovery of the victim’s body on April 7 between Mhaikam and Pimla villages. Agitating organisations have expressed frustration over delays in the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report and lapses in the investigation, demanding swift justice.
A consultative meeting convened by the Deputy Commissioner Peren on August 21 ended without a breakthrough as ZYON, ZSUN and ZMO, the core organisations spearheading the protest abstained from participation.
