Kohima, April 17 (MExN): Pinnacle Skills conducted training and certification programmes in Mon, Peren and Chumoukedima districts under the aegis of the Nagaland Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NESDM), officials said.
The programmes were held on March 13 in Mon, March 18 in Peren and April 2 in Chumoukedima, covering trades such as electrician, plumbing, masonry and tiling, aimed at addressing local skill gaps and promoting self-employment.
At the Mon programme, EAC (Development) Kedoseno Rino lauded NESDM for the initiative and appreciated Pinnacle Skills for bringing training to the community level. She congratulated the trainees and emphasised the importance of acquiring technical skills in the evolving job landscape, encouraging them to pursue entrepreneurship, continuously upskill and contribute to the development of the state.
In Ngwalwa under Peren district, eight women trainees were certified and provided with tools and equipment by Executive Director of Pinnacle Skills, Jenny Haining Murry, to support them in starting their professional journey collectively.
At Aoyim in Chumoukedima district, Director of ELS International Achen Imchen offered internship opportunities to trainees at his construction firm and encouraged them to remain disciplined and committed to their work. President of Ao Senso Telongjem Naga United, Malem Aier, also exhorted the trainees to start small, work together and grow collectively.
Pinnacle Skills stated that it remains committed to promoting vocational empowerment, while trainees shared that the hands-on training has equipped them with skills for industrial employment as well as entrepreneurship.
