Kohima, August 3 (MExN): ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Phek (ICAR-NRC on Mithun) conducted the live webcast of the 20th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme on August 2.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. T. Esther Longkumer, CTO (Soil Science), who highlighted various ongoing activities of KVK.
Zalekhu Lohe, Agricultural Inspector, Pfutsero, spoke on the mandates of the PM Kisan Scheme and elaborated on other schemes being implemented by the Department of Agriculture.
Vinoka, Deputy Project Director, ATMA, Phek, highlighted on ATMA's key initiatives and emphasized capacity building, documentation, and income-generating activities for farmers.
Manjunath K.S., SMS (Horticulture), stressed the role of vegetable cultivation in nutritional security.
A Farmer-Scientist Interaction Session was organized with experts from KVK and allied departments to address farmers' issues related to agriculture, horticulture, and livestock.
The event featured the live webcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address during the release of the 20th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi fund.
Awareness on agricultural drone was delivered by Er. Nukusa T Vadeo, TO (Computer).
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Harini K.R., SMS (Animal Science) and followed by the distribution of vegetable and soybean seeds to farmers to promote productivity and food security.
