DIMAPUR, MARCH 26 (MExN): The yearly ban of fowling and hunting within the area of Pochury during breeding season vide PPF Resolution No.5 w.e.f. April to September is again notified to all the concerned for strict adherence and action. In this connection, President Pochury Public Forum in a release stated that all the Village Council Chairman, Post Commanders of Village Guards, Vice Chairman of Meluri Town, Wezihu Town, Phokhungri Town, Akhegwo Town are empowered to check the defaulters in their respective jurisdiction by deploying village youths and VG personals.
The forum has also asked the Civil Administrative Officers of Meluri Sub-Division and Post Commander of 5th NAP Meluri/Wezihu and OC PS Meluri to issue directive orders to government servants and publics to restrain from killing birds and animals during the banned period. If anyone is found violating the order and also sheltering the defaulters, the President stated that the forum will take stern action and also a fine of Rs.500 per killed animal and bird. In case of the town dwellers, the offender(s) may be arrested and handed over to the Quarter Guards of VGs or Police Station without undue delay for quick conviction with a fine of Rs.500, which stated that President may extend upto Rs.5000.
