Dimapur, July 24 (MExN): The Fast Track Special Court (POCSO) in Dimapur has issued a public notice against Peter Chumbemo Kikon alias Robert Kikon, a resident of Mekokla village in Wokha district, in connection with an offence registered under Section 238 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) read with various provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
According to the notice dated July 6, 2026 and issued by Special Judge Khesheli Chishi, the accused, whose present address is listed as Little Attic Building, Kacharigaon, Dimapur, is suspected of having committed the offence. The court noted that a warrant of arrest issued against him was returned unexecuted as he could not be found, and he is believed to have absconded or “is concealing himself to avoid the service of the said warrant.”
The court has directed the accused to appear before it on August 10, 2026, at 10:30 am to answer the complaint.
The case is being heard under the POCSO Act, which provides for the establishment of special courts to ensure speedy trial of offences against children.
