A 6-day Pony Ride and Exhibition from December 1-6 organised by the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services as part of the Hornbill Festival began today at Pony Farm, Kigwema. 

Besides the pony ride, the Exhibition is being held for educational purpose especially for children, students and adults as well. The livestock and poultry exhibition includes both indigenous and exotic breeds available in the state. Some of the livestock and poultry being exhibited are Indigenous Indian recognised breeds like Tenyivo (pig), Sumi Ne (goat), Poultry birds including Desi local chickens, Turkeys, quails, silky white and sheep.

Hornbill Dog Show on December 5
A special feature of the 6-day event is the first-of-its-kind state level Hornbill Dog Show that will take place on December 5 at the Pony Farm in Kigwema.

Calling all dog lovers to showcase their canine companion on December 5, the Department Officials also announced that the Hornbill Dog Show Competition will be held in the category of Pure breed, Mixed breed and Local breed respectively. Apart from other special prizes, the cash prizes for the Dog Show Competition are ₹50,000, ₹35000 and ₹20000 as 1st Prize, 2nd Prize and 3rd Prize respectively.
