Poshan Maah 2021: Pledge to free all children, adolescent and women of Nagaland state from malnutrition

With the oath “to free all the children, adolescent and women of Nagaland from malnutrition and make them healthy and strong during this Poshan Maah celebration,” the Noksen ICDS Project organized the launching programme of Poshan Maah at Noksen town in Tuensang district on September 1.

The participants were led to Poshan Pledge by Namzurangbe, Senior Supervisor where they took the oath to “spread the message to every home-the meaning of right nutrition, nutritious food, clean water and right practices of life. I will make the ‘poshan abhiyaan’ a peoples’ movement throughout the country by which every home, every school. Every village and every town will speak up ‘what is right nutrition.’”

“Through this ‘Jan Andolan’ my Indian brothers and sisters and all the children will be healthy and strong and capable to face the challenges. This is my pledge. ‘Right nourishment bright nation’.”

Speaking at the event, Tsiatsusia SDO (C) Noksen shared that this was a long-time dream of the Prime Minister to make India purely a healthy country. “Through different activities, it molds the children while providing healthy and nutritious food keeps the mother and child health,” he said. The SDO (C) Noksen conveyed full support from the side of the administration for the upliftment of the village and its people.

The programme was chaired by Moanungsang, Block Project Assistant, invocation was spoken by W Lachumong, pastor Noksen Town Baptist Church, while vote of thanks was delivered by Alongla, Block Coordinator.

Meanwhile, the launching programme of Poshan Maah was held at Clock Tower, Tuensang town on September 1. It was launched by Rohit Singh, IAS, SDO (Civil), invocation was said by Y Yambe, Mupüng, Baptist Lashong, Tuensang; highlight of Poshan Maah was presented by Thungpang. The participants also took the Poshan Pledge and the launching programme was followed by Poshan Maah rally.
