Kohima, May 4 (MExN): The Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) held its second consultative meeting with various stakeholders and representatives in the fields of business and healthcare on May 4.

The meeting was part of a series of consultative meetings being held with different entities in the business and development ecosystem of Nagaland, stated an update received here.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the “possible signing” of a tripartite MoU between Indrayani Biotech, Sri Sankardeva Netralaya, and IDAN to set up an eye care hospital in Nagaland.

The Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) congratulated the chairman of IDAN, Abu Metha by the members of CNCCI during this meeting. They highlighted the organization’s strength and reach, their plan, and shared their market insight and recommendations. The team's latest proposed event initiated together with Assam Chamber of Commerce is to host the first North East Chamber of Commerce Meet with the objective to set up a federation to build a healthy business ecosystem across various states of NER.

In the meeting with the Nagaland Flower Growers’ Society (NFGS), the Chairman emphasized that it is time to convert the passion for flowers into a prosperous livelihood, employment generation, and contribute to the overall economy.

One of the key takeaways of this meeting was the need and potential of setting up a permanent flower market, which will not only provide permanent revenue to the growers but also act as a tourist attraction destination.

The meeting between IDAN, Indrayani Biotech, and Sri Sankardeva Netralayais is an outcome of the CSR Conclave, 2022, where the investor shared their interest in starting an Eye Care hospital in Nagaland. After multiple discussions over the past few months, the investor is keen to sign a MoU with the GON and looking to start work with the support of the government.

The chairman, Abu Metha, believes that it will not only benefit the people of Nagaland in terms of providing advanced technology-backed expert care within the state but also boost employment.

The meeting concluded with a meeting with the Naga Private Practitioners Association (NPPA). The Chairman acknowledged the inputs and insight received and highlighted the need to work collaboratively as partners to address the “wealth drain” due to a large number of our patients moving out of the State seeking access to better health care.

IDAN aims to continue these consultative meetings with various entities in the business and development ecosystem of Nagaland to promote entrepreneurship and economic development in the state.
