Tening, January 18 (DIPR): The 5th Tening Lun Aruang session, which was held at Tening Village also organised beauty pageant among the locality on January 15, 2011. The aim and object of the organising committee is to encourage young people of the village to prepare themselves to face district and state level competitions in the near future.
Under Secretary Assembly Secretariat Government of Nagaland, Kaikhiulule graced the function of the beauty pageant as the chief guest. Speaking as the chief guest, she said that women are extraordinarily God gifted, which should be used for the glory of God.
She also said that a beauty pageant should have a bigger aspect of life not for just displaying the outward beauty. She opined that it should be more responsible and contribute more towards the upliftment of the society.
The pageant was held as part of the 5th Tening Lun session where Miss Poukijunne was crowned with the coveted title of Miss Tening. Miss Chunkawang and Miss Kawikhunlu were adjudged first and second runners-up respectively.
