Kohima, July 3 (MExN): A power transformer damaged during a thunderstorm at the 132/33/11kV RESS Kohima on July 3 led to electricity disruption in and around Kohima district, with some areas remaining without power for nearly six hours, the Department of Power said.

In a press release, Executive Engineer, Transmission Division, Kohima, Er Namheu Khate Zeliang said the department was making all-out efforts to restore power supply at the earliest by putting in place alternate arrangements.

However, during the temporary arrangement, the department may have to restrict the load, resulting in increased load shedding, the press release said.

The department appealed to the public to bear with the inconvenience and extend their cooperation during the restoration period, while expressing appreciation for their patience and understanding.
