KOHIMA, OCTOBER 3 (MExN): The Department of Power, Government of Nagaland has announced that vegetation clearance and maintenance works for 132kV and 33kV transmission lines under the Kohima Transmission Division will be undertaken from October 6 to November 15.
According to a press release issued by the Executive Engineer, Transmission Division, Kohima, the programme is aimed at avoiding unwanted disruption and ensuring a stable power supply. In this regard, there will be a total shutdown of power in some areas from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily to facilitate smooth execution of the activity.
“All consumers and public in the affected areas are therefore requested to extend cooperation and bear the inconvenience during the shutdown period,” the release stated.
The Department notified the detailed schedule of shutdown as follows:
132 kV Lines
• 132kV Doyang to Sanis: October 17–18, 2025. Affected areas: Sanis, Bhandari, Baghty and Merapani.
• 132kV Kohima–Zhadima–Chiephobozou: October 31–November 3, 2025. Affected area: Zhadima under Kohima.
33 kV Lines
• Chiephobozou–New Terogonyu: October 6, 2025. Affected areas: Northern Angami under Kohima and Pughoboto.
• Chiephobozou–Tsiesema: October 8, 2025. Affected area: Chiephobozou under Kohima.
• Zhadima–Tsosunyu: October 9–10, 2025. Affected areas: Zhadima under Kohima and Tsosunyu.
• Zhadima–Viphuma: October 11–15, 2025. Affected area: Zhadima.
• Kohima–NU via bypass: October 16, 2025. Affected area: NU Meriema.
• Jakhama: October 20, 2025. Affected area: Southern Angami.
• Chakhabama: October 21–22, 2025. Affected areas: Southern Angami and Chozouba.
• AP-I: October 23–25, 2025. Affected areas: Lalmati, Zubza and Duilumroi SHP.
• Lalmati: October 27–28, 2025. Affected areas: Lalmati and Zubza.
The Department reminded that the clearance and shutdown programme corresponds to the earlier declaration of May and October as “Vegetation Clearance Months” for transmission lines.
