Chümoukedima, June 30 (MExN): The Department of Power, Chümoukedima Electrical Division, will launch an intensive disconnection drive against “chronic defaulters” from July 17, alongside a special provision for on-the-spot new service connections, an official notification said on Tuesday.
The exercise, which goes beyond the normal disconnection routine, is aimed at recovering long-pending electricity dues and enforcing compliance with payment norms across all municipal wards in the town and its peripheries, the department said.
According to the schedule released by Executive Engineer, Chümoukedima Electrical Division, the drive will begin with Wards 10, 11 and 9 from July 17 to 24, followed by Wards 8, 7 and 6 from July 27 to 31. The operations will continue with Wards 5, 4 and 3 from August 1 to 7, and conclude with Wards 1 and 2 from August 10 to 14.
All disconnection operations will be carried out in the presence of District Administration, Police, and local press/media to ensure transparency and maintain law and order, the notification added.
The department has strongly advised all defaulters to clear their outstanding bills immediately at the Chümoukedima Electrical Division, SDO (E) office to avoid disruption of power supply.
Consumers with pending applications for new electrical service connections have been informed that the department will provide on-the-spot connections during the drive period, subject to submission of complete documents and payment of applicable charges.
The department has appealed to all power consumers to cooperate with the drive and make timely payments to ensure uninterrupted and reliable electricity services for the entire area.
