“Power Development & Power Sector Reforms in the State”

Dimapur, May 20 (MExN): The Nagaland Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) is organizing a seminar on “Power Development and Power Sector Reforms in the State”, in coincidence with the 5th Meeting of the State Advisory Committee (SAC) of the NERC from 10:00 am onwards on May 23, 2012 at Hotel Japfu, Kohima.

A press note issued by P. Sani, Dy. Dir-cum-Commission Secretary, NERC stated that as per the programme, Lalthara, Chief Secretary, Nagaland will give preludial address in the seminar, while Er. I. Lanu Toy, Kohima and Dr. S.K. Chaudhuri, New Delhi will speak on subjects relating to Power Development and Power Sector Reforms respectively. Besides, a good number of State Government senior officials representing Government Departments such as Planning, Finance, Industries & Commerce, Engineering & Technical, Rural Development, Agriculture etc together with participants from various Corporations, Commissions, Boards, Bodies, Chamber of Commerce and Industries etc which are comparatively main stakeholders on the power sector including the media persons and others have been invited to attend the Seminar.

The note also stated that all SAC members and invitees are requested to be in their seats five to ten minutes ahead of the scheduled program. A press conference with the resource persons and the Commission is also scheduled to be held at 4:00 pm at the same premises and date. All the functions of the day will be chaired by Er. S.I. Longkumer, Chairman-cum-Member of the NERC, Kohima.
