Dimapur, February 21 (MExN): A 3 day workshop for ORWs and District Coordinators on HIV Prevention from Parent to Child Transmission (PPTCT) was held from February 16 to 18 for the districts of Dimapur, Peren, Mon and Kiphire. A press note received here stated that the workshop was organized by NEDHIV Dimapur and supported by IL & FS (Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services) Limited, Delhi, under Global Fund, RCC – 2. Dr. Arun Varma, Vice president of IL & FS, Delhi encouraged the participants not to look at PPTCT as one programme only but to keep in mind the Mother-Baby Health and the Society in general, to bring about a change in the communities as Nagaland is one of the 6th HIV High Prevalence States in India. Premjit, State Coordinator of Manipur & North East Consultant of IL & FS was the observer and guide for the training. The resource persons for the workshop were Fr. Joe, Director NEDHIV, Dr. Khelito, DTO Dimapur, Dr. Hotoka Hesso, M.O, ART Centre Dimapur, Darshim Saka, DNP+, Ashibo Kiba, Counselor PPTCT & Jacinta Telen of NEDHIV. 23 ORWs and 4 (four) coordinators took part in the training.
