Dimapur, November 15 (MExN): A Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) exercise to promote departmental and public interface on water and sanitation will be held from November 16 to 18, 2011. Organized by PHED (Rural) Division, Dimapur and sponsored by Water and Sanitation Support Organization (WSSO), PHED, Nagaland, Kohima, PRA would cover 6 villages in Dimapur namely 5th mile model and Ganeshnagar (November 16), Sovima and Toulazouma (November 17) Signal Angami Block II and Doyapur Bazaar (November 18) from 9am to 3.30pm respectively.
In a release, P.Khetoi Awomi, Executive Engineer, PHED(Rural)division, Dimapur informed that each village should have 25 participants drawn from the Village Council, VDB, WATSAN, teachers, ASHA, health workers, student union, women and youth organization adding, all other arrangements would be made by the department. It further apprised that PRA is a tool for involving the community to deliberate on the present status of water and sanitation, aimed at evolving solutions which would be an indicator for upcoming governmental policies and programmes.
