Dimapur, October 2 (MExN): The Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School, Dimapur observed Gandhi Jayanti Divas and Swachh Bharat Mission on October 2 at its school premises. The programme was presided over by Principal Monoj Bhattacharjee and the highlight of the programme, the key-note speech was delivered by Rahul Bhattacharjee (Sub-teacher) followed by the speech of Vice-Principal and Principal, a press release informed.

In his speech, Principal Monoj Bhattacharjee highlighted the various aspects of well-being and cleanliness. He also urged the teaching fraternity to convey the message to the students along with the aims and objectives of Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 which is to make cities garbage-free, manage sewage, make cities water-secure and ensure that dirty drains do not merge into rivers.

As per the release the teachers conducted mass cleanliness drive in all the classrooms and collected single use plastics both on campus and around the Milan Mandir Road area. Both the teaching and non-teaching staff took active part in the cleanliness drive which was supervised by the Principal. The cleanliness drive started at 11:00 am and continued up to 1:00 pm, the release stated.
