Kohima, January 8 (MExN): The Phek Area Wrestling Association (PAWA) has started massive preparation for its 29th Senior & Under 15 Wrestling Meet 2026, scheduled for January 10 at Phek Town.
The event will be managed Khutsokhuno Baptist Church in aid of the construction of new church building.
MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, will be the special guest while Col Iqbaljeet Singh Dhillon, Commandant, 39th Assam Rifles Phek will be the guest of honour.
PAWA president Chikhozo Chizo informed that in senior category, the champion will fetch a cash prize of Rs 1.10 lakh while runner-up will be awarded with Rs 70,000.
A cash prize of Rs 50,000 has been set for third prize. The 4th position holder will get Rs 40,000.
Quarter finalists will get Rs. 5000 each.
In Under 15 category, the Champion will get Rs 30,000, while 2nd position holder will get Rs 20,000.
The 3rd and 4th position holders will get Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
