Dimapur, December 5 (MExN): The Western Sümi Baptist Churches Association (WSBAK) which is the banner of 178 churches in the western Sümi area will be celebrating its Platinum Jubilee on December 10 and 11 at WSBAK Mission Centre, Aküvüto, Thahekhü with the theme ‘Ebenezer (I Samuel 7:12).’
In this connection, the WSBAK Platinum Jubilee Media Team informed that the first day of celebration would commence with the inauguration of WSBAK Mission Centre gate by Er Picto Shohe, MLA and will be dedicated by Rev Dr Phughoto Sema, Executive Secretary, WSBAK. This will be followed by Jubilee Concert and cultural programme where Er Picto Shohe and Tovihoto Ayemi, MLA & Advisor, Department of Power, Government of Nagaland will exhort and greet the gathering.
Alobo Naga, Nagagenous, NK Naga, and Pretty Rhythm are some of the prominent artistes out of the 20 performers for the concert. Folk items such as war song, orphan song, traditional fire making, aqhesho, liphile, kughusho, and aghütsükulu will be a part of cultural programme performed by different churches under WSBAK, the Media Team informed in a press release on Monday.
Two services will mark the second day of the celebration where people will witness the release of 75 balloons, welcome address by Er Ahoto Sema, President, WSBAK Council, release of Platinum Jubilee Commemorative Magazine by Azheto Zhimomi, MLA, exhortations by Jacob Zhimomi, Minister, PHED and Tokheho Yepthomi, Member of Parliament.
Rev Dr Hevukhu Achumi, Sr Pastor, Thilixü Baptist Church and Rev S Vitoshe Swu, Sr Pastor, Dimapur Sümi Baptist Church will be the speakers and the Chakhroma Baptist Church Council Choir and the Zeme Baptist Church Council Choir will also make a special presentation on the second day, it informed.
