Dimapur, September 25 (MExN): The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has notified that prior permission from the council is mandatory for organizing any seasonal festivals, events, carnivals, fairs, or similar activities within the jurisdiction of DMC.
According to a press release issued by the DMC, this measure is being enforced to ensure proper regulation, public safety, traffic management, and cleanliness during such events.
“All individuals, organizations, institutions, or groups intending to host such activities are requested to obtain permission from the permit branch of Dimapur Municipal Council well in advance. Organizing events without prior approval shall be treated as unauthorized and liable to action as per relevant municipal laws and regulations,” the notification stated. The DMC also sought the cooperation of all citizens to maintain order and ensure the smooth conduct of public events.
