Kohima, November 29 (DIPR): Stating that tourism would be the highest employment sector in Nagaland, during the 12th Plan Commissioner & Secretary Tourism, Himato urged the private investors to gear up for the tourism sector.
Addressing media persons on November 29, at the Directorate of Tourism office, Himato said that Nagas have to create demand for rural tourism and towards this end he encouraged the Naga people to travel in the different districts of Nagaland and promote tourism within the state. “Unless our home is ready there will be lacunae,” he said.
On the upcoming Hornbill Festival 2011, the Commissioner & Secretary said that Hornbill literature fest would be an added event where books on Birds of Nagaland would be released. Comic books focusing on folk tales to reach out to the younger generation would also be released.
Pointing out that the strength of rural tourism lies in the villages, Himato called for conservation of our bio-diversity and culture to sustain tourism in Nagaland.
