Dimapur, May 30 (MExN): An organization in Tuensang has demanded “immediate investigation” into the appointment scam in the Health & Family Welfare department that has 10 persons arrested.
Stating that the officers are guilty as well, the CTS expressed resentment that the officers can go scot free because of their influence while making scapegoats of Grade IV staffs. “Without the connivance of some higher ups those employees cannot get themselves appointed. The concerned department cannot simply wash off its hand in this matter,” the CTS reminded.
In a letter issued to the Media here today, the Changso Thangjam Setshang (CTS) of Tuensang demanded that the government “initiate an immediate investigation into the Health &Family Welfare dept scam so as to deliver justice to those 10 detainees.”
“Whether guilty or not those detained Grade IV staffs have the right to plead their case. It is not fair on the part of the concerned authority to summon those employees and simply detain them without giving them even the benefit of bail as if they are proven and hardened criminals,” the CTS stated in the letter.
The CTS speculated that “they might have been employed through some unfair means” yet whatever the case the organization wondered “is it not the bounden duty of the controlling officers to check and verify their documents before issuing any appointment orders?”
The CTS has demanded investigation so that the guilty are exposed and “rid Nagaland of such dirty elements and corruption prevalent in almost all the departments.”
“Until the guilt of those 10 detained employees are established, they should be regarded as innocent. And if their innocence is proven, how is the government going to compensate for all the harassment, mental and physical shame they are undergoing presently?”
