Youngsters hold the generation next. Schools, Colleges and Universities are the mechanisms for polishing the young thoughts and imparting new ones as well. In a word, good educational institutions for a better society.
The Nagaland University as one of the highest and the apex educational institutions of the state is trapped in the tug- of –war between Prof. G.D. Sharma at one edge and students, NUTA, and others on the other. The menace created by Sharma’s Administration has shut down the door of many promising students. The govt. is near to silence in this regard, other NGOS are turning deaf ear to the issue as something normal.
If so, how to we create and produce the young guns alive and promote Students’ welfare?
The failure on the part of the visitors from Delhi to accept Sharma’s resignation would bring a direct humiliation to the society at large. This is not a war wage between Sharma and the students; but between the former and welfare of the society. Is not this a wake up call for the general to join hands with the students and NUTA in their fight for justice and welfare of the state?
By the nature of Sharma’s work, we are certain that, it is not a mistake. If he dares to call it as such then, it is an intended mistake and thus need to be dealt with. This issue has surfaced thrice by this time with Sharma on the driver’s seat. And it would be a mockery if we are silent about it. What we call as social and rational would become unsocial and irrational if we are handicap about it.
The closure of administration and classes are gnawing away the determination of the students in particular. Are the parents not aware of it? Your children are suffering, our next generation is suffering. The first and the second semesters are waiting for their courses to be completed; the fourth semesters (2005 batch) are flipping pages of every local papers everyday to check the declaration of their semester’s examination.
The image of a state can be reflected upon from the efficiency and effectiveness of educational institutions. The dimensional building up of a society lies in the building up of students. The students need you. Let’s join hands together for a join venture – a corruption free society.
