The 22 member team of farmers and officials from Agriculture department on reaching Delhi as part of the progressive farmers’ exposure tour programme.
Dimapur, June 25 (MExN): A nine-day progressive farmers’ exposure tour programme was organized jointly by the State Department of Agriculture and ATMA-Dimapur District from June 14 to 22 to Delhi, Haryana and Agra for the farmers of Dimapur District. Altogether 20 farmers from various villages led by S.K Khemprai, SDAO Dimapur and Toivi Swu, AO-II participated in the tour programme.
The team visited Qutab Minar, Red Fort, Lotus temple, Rajghat, India Gate, Parliament house, etc, Taj Mahal in Agra. They also went around Delhi city to see famous bazaars and shopping places. The team was taken around the IARI, Pusa Campus by the authority concerned where they could see Protected farming system, Drip irrigation and Research farms. Thereafter, the team proceeded for Hissar (Haryana) and visited the Hissar Agricultural University and visited the different faculties of the university and its research farms.
