The Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) organised its 10th Multimedia Campaign: an awareness campaign through music under the theme, ‘HIV prevention starts with me.’

The campaign was held at Town Hall, Mokokchung on November 4. 

Music as an enticement to spread awareness amongst the young generation, Zonal District Level Band Competition for Mokokchung Zone was held where four bands participated namely, Progressive Soul Band, The Saints, Story to Tell and Kenei and the Faith Band. Each band performed two songs- one cover song and one original composition.

The Progressive Soul Band was adjudged the winner of the beat contest, while Story to Tell Band and Kenei & The faith Band bagged 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up, respectively. The winners were awarded cash prize of Rs 25, 000, 1st Runner-up Rs 20,000 and the 2nd Runner-up received Rs 15,000.

The judges of the competition were Ali Imsong, Proprietor, Resonate Studio, Ayu N Mongro, Keyboardist, Tune-Up Channel and Prashant Thapa, DAPCU representative. 

The winning bands, winner and 1st Runner-up from each Zone/Zonal District will compete in the Grand Finale to be held in Kohima.
