A promo run for Assam Rifles Half Marathon 2026 was organised by Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) in Kohima on October 24 to promote health and fitness.
Around 300 participants under the categories of below 10 years, 15 to 30 years, and above 30 years joined this promo run.
Gracing the occasion, Major General Harinder Singh Mavi, Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) said the promo run was organised to encourage people to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.
He stated that the initiative aimed to promote physical fitness among all age groups and create greater awareness about the importance of regular exercise.
Major General Mavi described the participation of children as a key objective of the initiative, emphasising the importance of motivating the younger generation to embrace fitness from an early age.
Earlier, he flagged off the run from Lok Bhavan road, which passes through TCP gate, Phoolbari, Razhu Point, D. Block and culminated at Assam Rifles helipad.
The event was held as part of the promotional activities for the Assam Rifles Half Marathon 2026, encouraging community participation and spreading the message of fitness, health and an active lifestyle.

15 to 30 years (Boys): 1st -Thepfudilhou Mere, 2nd- Santosh Nembang
Above 30 years (Girls): 1st- Mulevolu, 2nd - Shekhovelu
Above 30 years (Boys): 1st- Sep Phonyei Konyak (164 Naga TA), 2nd- L/Nk Tsole Yhokha (164 Naga TA)
