I was given the opportunity to travel far and wide. My eyes were opened and I am totally interested in the promotion of tourism in our state. I was able to identify some potential tourist spots.
1. Pfütsero: It is a small quaint scenic town and it can be the next Shillong. The hills are green and gentle. The roads are clean and the building beautiful and colorful. Plus it has the potential to be an important economic centre for the Phek District because it is strategically located; Kohima is near to it. The Cabbages and Potatoes grown in Phek District can be distributed through Pfütsero. The Khezha Chakhesang can sell this place hard as a Tourist destination. Build small cottages or home stays for Foreigners to feel at home. It is very beautiful, we should all visit it
2. The place between Yangzitong Village and Aghünato is simply breath taking. The snaky road leading to the Tsütha valley is surreal. Tsütha valley is awesome! I lost in time as we rested in Tsütha valley. Aghünato is clean and can be the next Darjeeling with proper connectivity.
3. The Saramati range is a place for the more adventurous. Even from the roads you will feel like you are top of the world. Those who are into SUV Backpacking may try the Saramati ranges. Awesome experience. It is a place where Eagles dare to fly.
4. Longleng: Abode in the clouds and aptly named. You feel like you are floating in the clouds with the clouds on your waist. Green and lush. Good Road connectivity is much needed in Longleng. Gayatri Maytas fiasco needed to be fixed soon. The horrible Changtongya - Longleng road is a nightmare especially in Monsoon!
5. Lanye Valley: Across the River is Manipur. The fields besides the river and the small huts on it. The cool breeze on your face. The mountains guarding you. Perfect place to spend the night in this place with tents and the kettle boiling on the fire. You will be rejuvenated at this place. The place is green and so peaceful.
And there must be plenty of beautiful places which I am missing out. Our government should identify those hot spots and sell our State hard as a tourist destination. Nagaland Tourism Minister, I hope you read this write-up. So my Friends forget about Switzerland! Pack your bags and head to the places I mentioned!
