Deputy Commissioner of Senapati (Manipur) today sent a proposal to Director (Transport) Manipur for introduction of public transport/ bus service from Senapati to Kohima.
In a letter addressed to Director (Transport) Manipur, the DC stated Senapati district is presently facing an acute shortage of organized public transport services, particularly bus services, causing considerable inconvenience to the general public.
“A large number of residents, students, government employees, traders, and patients regularly commute between Senapati and Kohima for educational, administrative, medical, and commercial purposes,” stated Senapati DC Dharun Kumar S.
He stated that the introduction of reliable and regular public bus services along NH-02 (Senapati Headquarters-Kohima) would greatly enhance connectivity and provide much-needed relief to the commuting public.
He requested that necessary action may kindly be taken to introduce public transport services and buses, on the Senapati-Kohima route at the earliest in the larger public interest.
