It is seen in media that it would be OK if widening of road by cutting the hillside is carried out by NHIDCL. However, it is opined that the deteriorating action of erosion taking place cannot be checked only by widening the road i.e. cutting the hillside but it is also required to consider construction of “REPELLING GROYNE STRUCTURES” along the vulnerable river bank, which is the edge of the highway itself.
The concerned Authority may kindly consider the feasibility.
