Protest by entrepreneurs over government’s failure

DIMAPUR, APRIL 14 (MExN): The All Nagaland Selected Entrepreneurs Association – YOE (ANSEA) held an emergency executive meeting on 11th April, 2012  in the Conclave Hall, LCS Building, Kohima, which was well attended by ANSEA Executives, District Unit Executives and members of ANSEA.

According to a press note from ANSEA President Kekhriesetuo Michael and Secretary Jasper V. Sumi, the meeting deliberated on the programme execution of the ‘Year of Entrepreneur’ for the 1000 selected entrepreneurs at length and viewed the “snail-paced progress and lackadaisical attitude” of the Government to assist the selected entrepreneurs as ‘utter disregard’ for the 1000 selected entrepreneurs and ‘intolerably annoying.’

Even at the end of the financial year (2011-12), the first-phase implementation as notified by the Department of Industries & Commerce, vide Govt Advt No. IND/YOE/1/2012, dated, Kohima the 15th Feb, 2012, where, selection was made for 300 entrepreneurs under PMEGP, 50 under NIDC, 50 under NABARD and 30 under NHHDC, nothing have so far been materialised, the press note informed. As a matter of fact, the house resolved to reject the entire first-phase selection list and further ask the department concern to revoke its notification immediately.

The meeting also resolved to register their protest against the government’s failure to implement the YOE programme for the 1000 entrepreneurs and decided to hold an agitation to demonstrate our resentment from 24th April 2012, starting 9:00 AM. 

Therefore, all the selected entrepreneurs under the YOE are directed to reach the Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Kohima by 9:00 AM on 24th April. ANSEA further insisted that, entrepreneurs who fails to attend the said demonstration, shall be penalised a sum of Rs. 10,000/- and their welfare shall not be taken care of by the association. 

In this regard, all the district units are directed to hold a district level meeting on or before the 21st of April, 2012. Members are also requested to contact their respective district office bearers for further information.

An Action Committee for the proposed agitation was also constituted during the meeting, with Mr. Temsu Sanglir as the Convenor and all the district level President/Chairman as members of the committee. All the members of the Action Committee are requested to take note of this resolution and directed to reach Kohima by 23rd April noon, for which the meeting venue shall intimated in due course of time.
