PSA’s 57th meet kicks off at Phek village

The 57th Meet-cum-Ist Naga style category wrestling of Phek Sports Association (PSA) got underway today at Phek village.

In the first football match of the day, Tehece Nado (TN) blanked Mutsuba Chedzuba (MC) 6-0.

Hashe-o Venuh fetched a hattrick for TN while Kiiveto Keyho netted two goals. TN gained another goal through Luvezo Hoshi.

In the second match, Chosaba overpowered Old town team 3-0.

In women basketball, Bible Hill Surhoba defeated Kepfutsa,  Old Town defeated  New Town,  Tehece Nado defeated Mutsuba Chedzuba and Ketouzou defeated Chosaba.

In men volleyball, Bible Hill Surhoba defeated Kepfutsa, Ketouzou defeated Old Town and Tehece Nado defeated New Town.

Earlier, Phek deputy commissioner Razouvolie Dozo graced the inaugural function.

Dozo extended invitation to all sports enthusiast to be part of framing new sports policy for Phek district. He urged upon the youth to be discipline, dedicated and maintain competitive spirit. PSA president Surhoneyi Soho delivered presidential address while the presentation to the dignitaries was led by PSA general secretary Ozo Venuh.

PSA games secretary Venekho Venuh administered oath to the participating teams.

The four day long meet will feature track and field events, Naga style category wrestling, football, volleyball and basketball. It will conclude on February 27.
