The ongoing standoff of Assam rifles and NSCN (IM) has disturbed the public of Nagaland who had whole heartedly worked hard for ceasefire in nagaland and long to have permanent peace.
The Assam rifles and NSCN forces deserve proper written briefings on ceasefire agreement and its ground rules between the government of India and NSCN (IM). It sounds loud and clear that the Assam rifle forces were either unaware of the terms of ceasefire ground rules or otherwise the commanding officer responsible for creating such trouble should be held responsible. Nevertheless amicable settlement is expected soon in the interest of peace for all.
As a public of Nagaland I understand that solution for Indo Naga Impasse requires the co-operation of all including our armed forces. We know that the Government of India initiated the peace talks almost one and a half decades back and it needs to be respected by all .Since the Home ministry of India is working hard to bring honorable settlement to it the same ministry may not find it difficult to diffuse the standoff. However clear cut ceasefire ground rules and its respect must be there so that no such like repetition may occur in future.
