Kohima, December 14 (MExN): The Phek Wrestling Association (PWA) will hold its 47th Wrestling Meet & 1st U-15 Edition 2025 on December 16 at Phek village.
MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu will be the special guest while Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) President Vezuhii Keyho will act as lead discussant.
The inaugural ceremony, starting at 8:30 AM will be led by PWA Financé Secretary Dzuthoyi Hoshi while PWA President R Bibi Soho will deliver presidential address.
PWA Technical Secretary Veta Soho will administer oath to the wrestlers.
The event will feature three categories- A Team, B Team and Under 15.
The prize sponsors for A team includes: Dr K Hoshi, ex-candidate 19th Phek A/C (1st Rs. 40,000), Zhokupa Hoshi, Asst Programme Officer, DoSE, Kohima, Nagaland (2nd prize- Rs 25,000), Shepalu Venuh, vice principal Phek Govt College ( 3rd- Rs. 15,000) and Rukuto Venuh, VCM Phek Village (4th – Rs. 10,000).
Prize sponsors for B team: Kuveduyi Venuh, EBRC Co-ordinator Phek Block (1st- Rs.10,000), Veshe Chizo, president PCF(2nd- Rs.7000), Kukhotso Keyho, GT/GMS Phek Basa (3rd- Rs. 5000), Hiivekholu Keyho, Women VDB secretary, Phek village (4th – Rs 3000).
The first prize for Under 15 category will be sponsored by Lavoto Chizo, NPF president 19th A/C Phek ( Rs. 15,000), Kupoyi Hoshi, PIS, DIS Mon (2nd – Rs. 10,000), Er. Vekhochiyi Rhakho, JE, PWD (NH), Phek Division (3rd- Rs. 8000 as well 4th prize- Rs. 6000).
Surhoneyi Soho international wrestling referee license (UWW) will be the chief referee.
