Dimapur, June 15 (MExN): The supporters of R Tohanba, former Parliamentary Secretary and former MLA from 58th Shamator-Chessore A/C held a consultative meeting at his residence at Shamator Town on June 8 and resolved to re-strengthen and renew unflinching support to him.
A press release from BJP, 58th Shamator-Chessore A/C said that the meeting was attended by “all the loyalist and former NPF office bearers and members of 58th A/C represented from different units.” The meeting resolved to recommend R Tohanba to join the BJP “for all round development of the area and also endorsed to support his candidature from BJP ticket for the forthcoming 2023 general election.”
It also informed that Dokiu Kecham, son of late K Yamakam, ex Minister and elder brother of late Toshi Wungtung, Advisor to the Government of Nagaland and MLA 58thA/C along with constituency level office bearers, unit level party functionaries and 4,400 supporters of Toshi Wungtung officially joined the BJP on June 11.
The BJP claimed that they have also pledged to support R Tohanba as the official BJP candidate from 58th Shamator-Chessore A/C during the forthcoming State Assembly Election to Nagaland in 2023.
The BJP added that both R Tohanba and Dokiu Kecham have “expressed full confidence in the leadership of Temjen Imna Along, President, Nagaland State BJP and the capacious leadership of Y Patton, Deputy CM and leader of BJP Legislature Party Nagaland.”
