Well, of late, the media is quite rife with news of the sternest possible punishments being awarded to the criminals, particularly the rapist. What is very commendable is the prompt verdict by the Alwar fast-track court pronouncing seven years’ rigorous imprisonment to the rapist of a German tourist. One definitely hopes that all other rape cases in future be settled as expeditiously as this case. Let no evil-minded male ever think of committing this repugnant crime again.
Well, government should give serious thought on finding reasons why people do commit rapes. Measures like imposing restriction on TV’s items and features and the cinemas that are provocative and improper in family environment are important.
Also, very earnestly speaking, fashion crazy girls should not wear the dresses that are sensuous and indecent. It helps grow filthy ideas in the mind alone. No denying, many of the wild gestures and advances of males may be attributed to girls wearing the dresses provocatively.
The last but not the least, besides academic education, perhaps it is the need of the hour for the government to consider to impart value-based teachings to its citizens that are fundamental to having a healthy society.
