Rationalisation issue: ENSF puts agitation on hold following DoSE's invitation

Tuensang, September 17 (MExN): The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has temporarily put on hold its planned escalation of agitation over the Department of School Education’s (DoSE) rationalisation policy, following an invitation from the department for discussions.

According to a communique issued by the federation, the ENSF received a letter from the DoSE on September 17 inviting its officials and representatives of its federating units for a meeting on September 20 to address the issues raised, particularly concerning the rationalisation of teachers.

The federation stated that in view of the invitation, the ongoing agitation has been suspended with immediate effect until further orders. “The federation hereby keeps the ongoing agitation on hold with immediate effect until further order,” the statement said.

Earlier, the ENSF had resolved to intensify its agitation from September 18 after a meeting at its Tuensang headquarters on September 16. The decision had been prompted by the DoSE’s September 15 letter, which the federation felt lacked concrete commitments on its demands.
