KOHIMA, JUNE 14 (MExN): The Rattle & Hum Music Society inducted Wenyitso Kapfo as its new president during a formal ceremony held at Hotel Vivor Kohima on June 12.
In his presidential Speech, Wenyitso Kapfo acknowledged the successful tenure led by Neingulie Nakhro while particularly appreciating his tenacity throughout and his skills in meticulously documenting the acitivities of the society among others. He also recalled how the Society was formed as a 'crazy dream' under the visionary leadership of Theja Meru.
The handing over ceremony was chaired by Ruguokhrietuo Kesiezie, Vice President, while the highlights of the event included opening remarks by President Emeritus, Theja Meru, President's Report by Neingulie Nakhro, outgoing president and vote of thanks by Vishü Rita Krocha, Secretary (Public Relations).
Other members of the Society include M. Ababe Ezung, Joint Secretary, Michelle Nakhro, Secretary (Headquarters), Dr. Tolto Metha, Secretary (Administration), Dr. Pelhoubeizo Kiso, Secretary (Operations), Dr. Theyiesinuo Keditsu, Secretary (Culture), and Thejakielie Zuyie, Secretary (Logistics). Abu Metha, Advisor to Chief Minister & Chairman, Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland is also the Advisor to the Society.
Mention may be made here that Rattle & Hum Music Society was founded with the mission to educate artists across Music, Art, Dance, Theatre and Literature on their crucial role in shaping culture and counter-culture.
Its distinguished record includes receiving the Governor's Gold Medal Award in 2020 for outstanding contributions to arts and music and has also successfully collaborated with institutions like the Raj Bhavan, ICCR and various Indian Embassies worldwide, showcasing India's profound diversity.
