The NSCN (IM) has officially reacted to the detention of its General Secretary Th. Muivah and seizure of his passport by Thai Immigrant authorities on July 17 at Bangkok and termed it as insincerity of the Government of India’s functioning and pointed out that the entire drama was the handiwork of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), the external intelligence apparatus of the government and that its agenda was to have Muivah deported to India to be arrested.
Speaking to The Morung Express, Deputy Kilonser Kraiba Chawang pointed out that all necessary clearance had been given by all the concerned authorities including by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). Chawang said that even in the year 2000 when Muivah was arrested, the RAW was behind it and pointed out that it was either insincerity on the part of Delhi or the failure of the government to control its agencies. “It is obvious that the government of India has failed to control agencies such as the RAW”, Chawang said.
The NSCN (IM) official also said that RAW was not happy to be left out of the peace process and claimed that RAW and the Intelligence Bureau (IB), the apex domestic intelligence-gathering agency had a tussle going on between them.
Chawang also charged that the RAW was creating problems in the peace process and even linked the July 17 incident at Bangkok and the ongoing factional clashes here in the State. “It is not the Thai authorities creating a problem but it is RAW that is to blame”, Chawang insisted.
Meanwhile it has been informed that Muivah has been released and his passport cleared.
