Kohima, September 18 (MExN): Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) chairman and NPF Legislature Party leader Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu today stated that the recent political development within the party was a blessing in disguise for the party to select honest, upright leaders with principles and integrity in the near future.
Speaking at the general meeting of NPF Mokokchung Division at Mokokchung Town Hall, Nienu said it was a blessing in disguise because the party is now free from anti incumbency factor and also free from obligation towards any individuals. Now that the party is free from these factors it will be able to select the best and winning candidates for the general elections scheduled for 2018, he stated.
With this, he added, a secular government will be installed headed by NPF.
He also assured that NPF led government will provide stability, peace and progress as well. Nienu further said NPF party welcomes the peace process and the political dialogues with GOI for a solution before the 2018 general elections, if the same is inclusive and acceptable to the Nagas.
Nevertheless, he said, the party should and will go ahead with full preparations for the forthcoming general elections in order to provide a better, stronger and cleaner government to the people. As far as selection of party candidates is concerned, he agreed with the party president Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu for selection of younger candidates and women as well.
Spokesperson of the NPF Legislature party Yitachu, MLA, in his address alleged that the BJP at the Centre is desperate to install a BJP government in Nagaland, stated a press release from Media & Press Bureau, NPF Central Headquarters. However, their dreams to hijack the NPF government to BJP can never be fulfilled as the Naga people can never be taken for a ride with their motive, he asserted. The Naga people have given their mandate to the NPF, he added.
Later, the Mokokchung division adopted five-point resolutions. It resolved to give a clarion call to the “misled and misguided friends” of the division to mend ways and come back home to the rightful owners of the NPF party. The division saluted the resolve and determination of the 12 MLAs for their absolute support and dedication to the party and its rank and file. It resolved to forward candidates to the people of the district to elect as leaders in the coming election. The division also decided to proactively support the Indo-Naga political settlement on a mutually-acceptable term, it added.
