The youth department of Sümi Aphuyemi Baptist Church Kohima (SABCK) has conducted its 3rd Open Penalty shoot-out 2022 event in solidarity with Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) clean election movement at D Khel Ground, Kohima village on September 17.

Red Scars emerged the champion title and received Rs 50,000. Runners up Youth Executives, SABCK stood runner up and awarded with Rs. 20,000. Semi finalists Amigos FC and Awesome-5 received Rs. 5000 each.

Hokuto of youth executives SABCK Team have been conferred as best goal keeper award.

Earlier, gracing the inaugural function as the guest of honour, MLA Y Vikheho Swu called upon the people of Pughoboto area to come forward and “give our time, our concern in developing Pughoboto to a beautiful place and join the race with the rest of the Nagas.”

He extended congratulation to winners of the recently concluded Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2022 & successful candidates of NPSC from Pughoboto.

“Success is never by chance,” he said and called upon the youth to stay committed and work hard to excel.

Talking on the topic “Clean Election,” Alito V Swu, Associate Pastor (Women), SABCK and core committee NBCC Clean Election, stressed on the need follow the code and principle of NBCC Clean Election Movement. She also called upon the people to rise on the occasion for free and fair election and at the same time no ensure that no space is created for unfair practice.

Delivering welcome address, Hito I Swu, convenor sports committee appreciated the overwhelming turn-out of 44 teams in this 3rd edition. Stating that sports bring the people together, he hoped that this event will carry the ingredient of peace and harmony. He also stressed on the need adhere the good ethics of electioneering process for better tomorrow.

Earlier, the inaugural function was compered by Viqheshe S Futhena and Kinitoli Saghii. Aghali K. Sheqi, Associate Pastor (Youth), SABCK invoked God blessings. The programme also witnessed special number from Ngulivi Wotsa and Bonoto Wotsa. Act of blessings was pronounced by SABCK senior pastor Rev. Dr. Kiyeto Sema. Obed Achumi, BDO, RD Block Ghathashi graced the valedictory function as the special guest and gave away prize to the winners.

Mentionably, a voluntary signature campaign was carried out during the event wherein many youth appended their signature in support of Clean Election Movement.
