A refurbished 2nd hand mobile shop located at West Road Mall building, Jail Colony, Kohima, was burgled in the early hours of July 31 between 1:30 a.m-2:00 a.m. According to the shop owner, Anato Yeptho, the burglar stole four mobile phones along with a charger and charging cables. An FIR ws filed at South Police Station, and police conducted spot verification while the CCTV footage was reviewed, he informed. Yeptho who has been running the store since 2022, stated that a prime suspect was identified based on surveillance footage. The suspect, he said, visited the shop during the day and checked the same phones that were later stolen. Later, Yeptho informed that the burglar, along with some relatives came and returned the stolen items, and the matter was resolved on humanitarian grounds.
