VC NU visits Meriema Campus

Dimapur, September 25 (DIPR):
The new Vice Chancellor Nagaland University, Professor Bolin Kumar Konwar visited the Nagaland University Meriema Campus on September 20, 2011. The Vice Chancellor inspected all the academic departments of the Campus and interacted with students, faculty members and non-teaching staff.

Dmr RockAware audition today

Dimapur, September 25 (MExN):
Dimapur RockAware audition will be held on September 26 at Town Hall, 4:00 pm onwards.  All 23 registered bands from Dimapur are requested to report to the venue by 3:00 pm, informed a press note.

Career conference at Pfutsero, Pholami

Kohima, September 25 (MExN):
The Vocational Guidance & Counseling Cell, SCERT Nagaland organized a career conference at GHS Pfutsero on September 22 last where 125 secondary students were given career counseling to opt for various academic and vocational courses after HSLC exam. Similar conference also took place today at Govt High School Pholami, according to Zavise Rume, Zavise Rume, officer- in- charge, vocational guidance and counseling cell, SCERT, Nagaland.

DBICC emergency meet held

Dimapur, September 25 (MExN):
The Dimapur Bank & Insurance Coordination committee held a emergency meeting on September 20 at SBI Bazar Branch, where the house extended its deepest gratitude to the district administration, the police the President and his colleagues of Naga Council Dimapur, the President and his colleagues DCCI Dimapur Ato Yepthomi and his colleagues from medical dealers association and all sections of national workers for their deep concern and coordinating with administration and police and different NGO"S to secure the release of Tushar son of Manager Vijaya Bank Dimapur unharmed. The lad who was kidnapped on his way back from school and ultimately was released unharmed on September 17 due to “heavy pressure exerted from the above named agencies”. “We will always remain indebted to the above agencies,” stated a press note issued by Sudip Sen, general secretary of DBICC, Dimapur.

NASU undertakes education tour

Dimapur, September 25 (MExN):
The Northern Angami Students Union (NASU) had undertaken an education tour under the theme Education & Good Will from August 23 to September 16 last visiting all the 54 Govt. established schools under its unit, which comprises of 20 villages. uring the tour the NASU executives and senior leaders interacted with the students, Village Education Committee (VEC), Village Councils, teaching staffs and parents with the objective to foster quality education.Further, NASU has committed to take up the genuine issues compiled during the tour. Discrepancies such as lack of teacher, shortage of teaching staffs and lack of basic infrastructures which needs immediate redressal by the concerned authority, the Union said. This was stated in a release issued by Kehounei-u Theünuo, convener, education committee, NASU.

Bicycles presented to needy students  

Dimapur, September 25 (MExN):
As part of Civic Action Programme, 173 Bn. CRPF located at Dimapur presented bicycles to needy students of Lorna School, Dimapur today. hief Executive Officer of Dimapur Municipal Council Imtirenla Jamir graced the programme as chief guest and gave away bicycles to 12 needy students in presence of officers of the CRPF including Anupam Shrama, Commandant, 173 BN CRPF who was the guest of honour of the occasion and administrator and staff of the school, informed a press note received here today. The note also stated that giving a short speech, Imtirenla Jamir said CRPF personnel are doing humanity service towards the needy people with a view to develop mutual trust and understanding with local populace. She urged them to continue to do charity services by way of organizing medical camps, constructing play grounds, providing safe drinking water facility etc especially in remote villages where requirement are felt more.
