KCKSSU new office bearers
Kohima, November 11 (MExN): The Kohima College Kohima Sumi Students’ Union (KCKSSU), has elected its new office bearers for the term 2011-2012. The new team is headed by Bovito Sheqi as president, Tokiye Kappo as general secretary and Atomu H Achumi as organizing committee.
Tribal Hohos told to submit write-ups for Hornbill Festival
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 11 (MExN): As discussed and agreed upon on October 20, the representatives of the tribal hohos/unions are requested to expedite the submission of write-ups of their respective Tribes, places of interest, cultural and historical importance, etc. for making placards in front of their 'morungs' at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama by November 21.The write-ups preferably in both hard and soft copy may be submitted to K. T. Thomas, Jt. Director (Tourism), Directorate of Tourism, Kohima, informed a press note issued by K. Yanpanthung Kikon, Director of Tourism.
Chakhesang Hoho Kohima session on Nov 14
Kohima, November 11 (MExN): The Chakhesang Hoho Kohima will hold its annual general session 2011 on November 14 at Jubilee Hall, Chakhesang Baptist Church Kitsubozou, Kohima from 10:00 am onwards. minister for Health & Family welfare Kuzholuzo Nienu will be the guest speaker. Former minister K. Therie will also exhort the gathering while greetings will be shared by Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) president Sovenyi. The function will also marked by adoption of constitution and emblem, secretary report, installation of new office bearers, folk song and release of Kohima Chakhesang Hoho Census 2010. All presidents of village units have been requested to compulsorily attend the session along with at least 5 members each. Public leaders, CPO, CGOF, CYF, CSUK, CWSK, church leaders and well wishers are also invited to grace the session.

13 AR recovers arms and ammunitions
DIMAPUR, November 11 (MExN): The personnel of 13 Assam Rifles under 5 Sector Assam Rifles recovered arms and ammunitions.
The seized items were included one pt 303 Rifle, one magazine 303, 07 live rounds of 303 ammunition, one 7.62mm LMG BREN MK-I, magazine 03 Nos, 114 live rounds of ammunition, one country made pistol and incriminating documents at Puruba village in Phek district on November 9.
The Assam Rifles personnel discovered the cache of Arms and Ammunitions from the house of FGN cadre. Later an FIR was lodged at Police station Pfutsero. This was informed in a press note issued by PRO IGAR North.

ORBC celebrated Platinum Jubilee
Kohima, November 11 (MExN): The Old Riphyim Baptist Church (ORBC) celebrated its 75th years (1936-2011) from November 6 to 6 under the theme “The Lord is our banner”. The Celebration began with the inauguration and unveiling of the Jubilee stone by Rev. Dr. E. Nrio Ezung, Executive secretary, KBES followed by dedication of the jubilee hall by Rev. M. Tsanglao, Missionary-at-large, KBES. Rev. Dr. E. Nrio Ezung, Rev. N. Jonah, Pastor Diphupar ‘B’ LBC, Dimapur and Rev. L.K. Tsanglao were the main speakers of the celebration.
Parliamentary secretary, geology & mining, I & FC, border affairs, Y. Patton and member of Lok Sabha, C. M. Chang also delivered greetings while exhortation was delivered by Rev. Rhyutsemo Ngullie, Pastor Tusngiki village and Evangeline, Education secretary NBCC.
More than 1500 delegates from various churches and villagers attended the jubilee while also a special prayer for the host villagers was proposed by Rev. Yankey Patton, Missionary to Arunachel Pradesh.

Nribemo Ezung, Jubliee Chairman, Old Riphyim Baptist church stated that the celebration began with a special programme from 3 November led by ORBC pastor, Y.Chumben Patton and Associate pastor S. Kilo Kithan for the host village. The platinum jubilee celebration ended on November 6 evening with a solemn candle light service led by Rev. L.K Tsanglao.
